TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - A brand new bundle of fur is bouncing into the Arctic Encounter at The Toledo Zoo.
Now's your chance to meet Bo, which is short for Borealis.
He was born December 9, 2018. So, he's 5 months old and already weighs 130 pounds.
Mother's Day weekend 2019 is the first time anyone can see Bo in the enclosure with his mother, Crystal, who is 20 years old.
Bo is her 7th cub born at The Toledo Zoo.
Animal experts explain the breeding program for polar bears in captivity is critical to the survival of the threatened species.
Bo is expected to remain at The Toledo Zoo for the next 2 to 3 years. After that, he may be transferred to another zoological facility to keep the breeding program going.
For now, you get a chance to see him frolic and explore the Arctic Encounter.
