Body found after motorcycle crash in Oregon

Oregon police are investigating after a deadly motorcycle crash.

According to a detective with the department, police found the body of a 59-year-old man on Pickle Road, near Willow Cemetery, Thursday morning. Police say the driver veered off the side of the road, hit a tree and was thrown from the motorcycle down an embankment.

Authorities identified the victim as Phillip Myrice of Swanton. Police say he was not wearing a helmet.

Detectives tell 13abc they're working to figure out when the crash happened and that the body may have been there between four-12 hours. A driver passing by spotted Myrice's body around 8:47am.

The Lucas County coroner will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Meantime, police had not released the victim's name as of 11:45am because family members had not yet been notified.
