Building for the Future: What's next for Washington Local Schools

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Washington Local Schools is getting a makeover, thanks to voter support at the polls.

Superintendent Kadee Andstat says the $50 million in capital improvement funds will be used to reconstruct and upgrade district schools like Shoreland Elementary

"We will get back in contact with the OCC. We need an architect, drawings, what should Shoreland Elementary look like, Wernert look like," Andstat said. "I think kids should have a say in where they go to school and what that looks like. Career tech students in kindergarten as far as i am concerned. It's their community. "

In the days and months ahead, you can expect several community conversations.

"We can't get anywhere without that input and then we are ready to dig."
