TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - The Cherry St. Mission does not receive any government funding, so the organization relies on donations in order to care for Toledo's homeless.
It may be warming up now, but the impact of last week's polar vortex is still being felt at the Cherry St. Mission. That record breaking cold lead to a significant increase in the amount of people seeking shelter and food. Mission leaders say they're in desperate need of volunteers and money in order to continue to help the most vulnerable in our community.
