TOLEDO (WTVG) - The Cherry Street Mission is warning the public to be aware of scammers pretending to collect donations.
According to a post on the organization's Facebook page, they have received reports of someone pretending to collect donations on their behalf, claiming to collect funds by selling roses or asking for cash or gift cards for an upcoming fundraiser.
The Mission says people should always be aware of potential scams, and should never provide personal information, money, or goods to anyone unless you absolutely trust the source.
They say anyone working with the Mission will have credentials and would not ask for donations in a public place, like a restaurant.
Anyone with questions is asked to contact Cherry Street Mission's Communications Director Nikki Morey at 419-214-3410.
