Church looks to rebuild after massive fire

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) It's a numbing experience like losing someone close to you.

Pastor Delbert Williamson is still in disbelief.

Two weeks ago his church, Now Faith Worship Center burned to the ground.

Toledo firefighters say the fire started around 4 a.m.

The fire is still under investigation and is listed as suspicious.

The congregation has been without a church for two Sundays, and now several area churches are coming together to hold a benefit service this Sunday at 6 p.m. at Indiana Baptist Church.

"This is the place they serve people spiritually, to be able to make it through the week, to make it through what they are dealing with, so we want to build there gas station back up on line for the service of the Lord," Pastor Brock from Mount Nebo Baptist Church said.

This church has been a part of the Toledo community for almost one hundred years.

The pastor says he is not sure how much it will take to rebuild, but he says what's needed is far beyond a dollar amount.

"A lot of prayers, that's the bottom line... a lot of prayers."
