City says flood controls are in place

(TOLEDO) - The City of Toledo says its prepared for additional flooding.

Flooding is taking place in Point Place after the city says river levels rose five feet within three hours. Flooding is taking place along Edgewater Drive and 121st Street.

City employees placed six pumps in the area including two along Edgewater Drive.

Six underground pumping stations in Point Place have been operating to pump surface water from the storm water collection system back into waterways.

Flood gates have been closed in Point Place by city employees and the Bay View Water Treatment plant is running at about double capacity.

Cullen Park boat ramp was closed on Friday.
