BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (WTVG) - State Route 582 is about to undergo minor widening and bridge rehabilitation.

The project will upgrade five miles of SR 582 by widening and reconstructing the road between I-75 and SR 199. It will include the bridges over I-75, Carter Road and Packer Creek. There will also be drainage and ditch work and guardrail upgrades.

Starting Monday, May 13 through October, SR 582/Middleton Pike between I-75 and SR 199 will be closed to through-traffic, but residential access will be maintained.

Also starting May 13, the bridge over I-75 will be closed for rehabilitation, and SR 582 will be closed between Carter Road and Caris Road for culvert installation, drainage work and roadway reconstruction. The north and south roads, including SR 199 will remain open.

You can detour these closures by taking US 6 (Exit 179) to SR 199 or I-475 (Exit 192) to SR 25 (Exit 2).

Starting May 29 through mid-June, the ramps to and from I-75 to and from SR 582 will be closed. You can detour by taking US 6 (Exit 179) to SR 199 and I-475 (Exit 192) to SR 25 (Exit 2).

Additional restrictions and closures will be announced by ODOT. We'll be sure to keep you posted.
