Complaints about absentee ballot in Lucas County lead BOE to offer new ones

Anyone in Lucas County having problems with "ovals" on their Lucas County absentee ballot can ask for a new one.
Several viewers have contacted 13abc saying the ovals they are supposed to fill in look faint.
The Lucas County Board of Elections has received the same complaints and they’re now addressing it.
According to Lavera Scott with the Board of Elections her staff will reissue a ballot to anyone with the printing issue and their first ballot will be suspended. Voters will also be given the option to mark their choice with an X or a circle. Those ballots will be remade by a bi-partisan team to reflect voter intent according to Scott.
Future absentee ballots will be checked for any printing errors.
Scott says ballots were printed in house this year because the printer vendor was unable to have the ballots to the Board of Elections before absentee voting began.
