Firefighter treated for smoke inhalation during house fire

CONTINENTAL, Ohio (WTVG) - A family lost their home, and a firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation after a house fire near Continental.

It happened on SR 634 between SR 15 and Road D, just north of Continental.

Dispatchers say that the fire started around 4:00 AM Wednesday. Everyone made it out of the house, according to a press release from the sheriff's office.

One firefighter was treated for minor smoke inhalation on scene. No one else was hurt.

The cause is still under investigation, and the home is considered a total loss.

Continental fire crews were assisted by Ayersville Fire, Oakwood Fire, Miller City Fire, Putnam County EMS, Putnam County Sheriff's deputies, and Paulding Putnam Electric Coop.

The Putnam County Chapter of the American Red Cross was also called out to assist the family.

Emergency crews were still on scene as of 7:30 AM.
