SYLVANIA, Ohio (WTVG) - You'll soon be able to walk around downtown Sylvania with alcohol, at least within a designated area. The Downtown Outdoor Recreation Area, or DORA, passed the City Council in a unanimous vote on Monday night.
The DORA will allow customers of six downtown businesses to bring alcoholic beverages out into the designated area between Main Street and Maplewood (not including Erie or Summit). Those beverages will need to be served in a designated DORA cup which is the same at all six establishments. Only drinks in those cups will be allowed outside.
The DORA will operate between Noon and Midnight and will go into effect starting on May 1st.
