The Fulton County Prosecutor's Office released dash cam video of a teenage boy shooting a Fulton County sheriff deputy during a traffic stop. The second defendant a teenage girl was sentenced to two years and six months for her role in the crime.
The judge told Skye Thibodeaux if she would have been worried or concerned about what happened. She would have stayed away from Jeshua Gilmore. The prosecutor says she continued to take phone calls from him even after he was sentenced for shooting a sheriff deputy.
The dash cam video shows the driver 18 year old Jeshua Gilmore and his girlfriend get out of the car. Skye Thibodeaux runs into the cornfield. Gilmore fires four shots at sheriff deputy Jeremy Simon. He calls for help.
Thibodeaux faced a judge. She's been on house arrest since the incident. Her attorney argued the teen was remorseful and he hopes this incident scared her straight. She even apologized, but the prosecutor says the teen is not sorry about anything. Authorities were monitoring the teens social media posts and phone calls. The prosecutor says the 18 year old posted a picture of her standing by a police car with her middle finger up with a caption of free Jeshua. Last week her boyfriend Jeshua Gilmore was sentenced to 26 years and nine months in prison for shooting a sheriff deputy after a pursuit.
The judge said he was furious by Thibodeax's behavior. He sentenced her to two years and six months in prison and told her not to ask for judicial release anytime soon. He said she needed some time to figure out exactly what she wants to do with her life. The teens lawyer declined to comment.
