PERRYSBURG, Ohio (WTVG) - Residents in Perrysburg are gearing up for some friendly competition all while raising money for local charities.
"Deck the Homes," is a holiday light contest being held in the city and township.
It will be divided into four categories, Traditional, Through the Eyes of a Child, Best Use of Lights and Business. Each person will be able to choose their category.
The contest is designed to enhance the holiday spirit through out Perrysburg and Perrysburg township and also applaud those who go above and beyond.
All of the money raised will benefit Perrysburg Schools and other charities to help local children in need.
If you're interested you must fill out an entry form. Those are available at on Facebook and at Gathering Volumes bookstore at 196 E. South Boundary. You can drop off completed forms at the bookstore or by mail to Ed Palmatier, 1549 Logan Lane, Perrysburg, OH 43551.
The cost is $20 for homes and $150 for a business. Residents could win up to $100 dollars for their display. Businesses will get bragging rights.
This competition is open to both city and township residents. Decorations must be visible from the road and available for viewing between December 3rd-14th from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Winners will be announced at December 18th's council meeting.
