Despite delays, ramp from I-475 SB to US 24 WB set to open in October
If you've driven by the ramp from I-475 southbound to US 24 westbound, you'd agree: it's a construction zone that looks more like a ghost town. No construction vehicles. No workers. Nothing.
We reached out to ODOT for an explanation, and it says this is all a part of the plan.
The ramp originally closed back in April for a ramp realignment project and was slated to open this October. Because crews had to realign the ramp and place new dirt, they have to let it settle for at least three months before paving. This is, however, something written into the original project timeline.
Crews were delayed in the beginning of the project due to the rainy spring, but an ODOT spokesperson tells 13abc they've made up for lost time.
The good news? The ramp is still scheduled to open sometime this October!
