Toledo Police make arrest in Monday night homicide

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Toledo Police are investigating a murder in the city’s East Side.

Officers originally got the call around 6:45 Monday night for an assault at a home on the 1100 block of Nevada.

Once on scene detectives say they found a Joseph Cobb-Stewart, 38, dead inside the home. Police say Cobb-Stewart had been shot at least one time.

The suspect, Gillame Lottery, 29, was arrested by police at the station. He is charged with murder and is currently being booked in the Lucas County Jail.

Nevada was closed for a short period of time between Willard and Parker as investigators collected evidence and information in the area.

The circumstances surrounding the relationship between the victim and the suspect or a motive for the deadly shooting remain unclear.
