Bowling Green, OH (WTVG) - Since 1994, the House of Representatives has flipped four times, or roughly once every six years.

13abc political analyst, professor Melissa Miller says, get used to this.

Miller says, "We're seeing a more finicky electorate that is giving control to the Democrats for a period, then the Republicans, then back to the Democrats."

Voter participation jumped from 36-percent of eligible voters 4-years ago to 49-percent this year.

And Americans are voting for more women which changes our nature of our politics.

Professor miller says that is significant.

"As they win for governor seats and US senate seats we will starting seeing more women running for president," she says.
