TOLEDO There is a Family Forum on Gun Violence on Saturday, October 12th at the New Life Center, Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1430 West Bancroft St. The event is sponsored by the Toledo Human Relations Commission and will go from 9:30am to 11:30am.
Marcel McClinton is going to be at the forum to share his personal experience with gun violence. He was in a church in Houston Texas back in 2016 when a gunman terrorized the neighborhood surrounding it. "For an hour I sat in the front lobby watching him pace in the parking lot shooting out car windows my friend Denise was shot through her car," says McClinton. The ordeal last a couple of hours and two people including the gunman were killed and six people were injured. "I just want to make sure that no one else deserves to feel that trauma or live with it anymore. I don't wish gun violence upon anyone."
McClinton co-organized the "Houston March For Our Lives" where 15,000 people marched to support tougher gun laws.
