TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Toledo firefighters battled flames and extreme cold temperatures while responding to a house fire Thursday morning.
The fire broke out around 4 AM at a home on Westwood just south of Dorr.
Toledo Police tell 13abc that no one was inside the home at the time.
Along with smoke and flames, first responders had to deal with sub-zero temperatures. Additional crews were called to the scene to help rotate shifts to keep firefighters warm.
The brutal cold temperatures also caused for icy conditions with water freezing on sidewalks and streets.
According to officials, there were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
