Firefighters go Christmas shopping for local kids

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - It's a Christmas tradition that means a lot to Toledo firefighters. The president of the firefighters union, Toledo's fire chief and some of his
members went Christmas shopping at Kohl's for kids in our community.

"This is one of the most enjoyable things we do all year long. This is our chance to give back to the community," said Toledo Firefighters Local 92 President Jeffrey Koenigseker.

"This is for the kids. We are fortunate with what we do and the opportunities we have in our careers. It's a good time to give back especially around the holidays," said Toledo Fire Chief Brian Byrd.

Year after year the firefighters have shown lots of love by donating hundreds of toys to the 13abc Hope for the Holidays Toy Drive.
