Flags at half-staff today in honor of Patriot Day

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - If you fly the American flag, today is one of the days it's suggested to fly it at half-mast or half-staff. This presidential order first started in 2001 by a joint Congressional order to name September 11 as Patriot Day.
Each year the President has issued a request for flags to be flown at half-mast from dawn to dusk.
The Presidential order pertains to flags over federal buildings, for the rest of us, it's meant as an invitation to fly our flags at half-staff in honor of a federally recognized day.
