Former Ida superintendent among 12 vying for Ottawa Hills spot

OTTAWA HILLS, Ohio (WTVG) - A former Southeast Michigan superintendent who resigned from his last position is among the long list of people looking to become the next Ottawa Hills schools superintendent .

Former Ida superintendent Rick Carston has applied for the position that Doctor Kevin Miller will be leaving this year.

In March, Carston resigned from his position in Ida following allegations that he mishandled a student's sexual harassment claims. Carston says in his Ottawa Hills application that with the election of a new board, members wanted to move in a new direction so he and the board negotiated a separation agreement.

Carston is one of 12 people that a search firm is vetting right now to take that top spot.
