Fostoria firefighters handle two separate fires

FOSTORIA, Ohio (WTVG) - It was a very busy morning for Fostoria firefighters as they battled two separate structure fires Tuesday morning.

The first happened at a home on the 200 block of Sandusky Street.

Firefighters on scene tell 13abc that no one was home at the time of the fire. They say that the same home caught fire last summer. The cause is unknown. The State Fire Marshall will investigate. Tiffin firefighters assisted with this fire. The house is considered a total loss.

Another fire broke out at Fostoria High School. Fostoria Fire Chief Brian Herbert tells 13abc that the fire at the high school is not considered suspicious, and was contained to the electrical room. No one was hurt. The school district sent out the following statement on social media:

"Good morning. The Fostoria Elementary Schools will be running on a two hour delay today, Tuesday, January 09, 2018. Due to small fire that caused a power outage, the Junior Senior High School is closed today, Tuesday, January 9, 2018. Again, the elementary schools are on a two hour delay today. The Junior Senior High School is closed. More details on the JSHS are forthcoming. Thank you."
