Fostoria schools increase police presence after shooting threat deemed not credible

FOSTORIA, Ohio (WTVG) - All students and staff at Fostoria Junior Senior High School are safe this morning, despite a shooting threat discovered on Snapchat Tuesday night. Police, however, will remain in district buildings as a precaution.

According to a post on the school district's Facebook page, that threat was discovered on a hacked Snapchat account and investigated. That investigation, which was conducted by the school and the police department, deemed the threat was not credible. Classes continued as normal Wednesday morning.

The post also said that as a precaution there would be an increased police presence in the JSHS, and at all district buildings. They say everyone will remain on alert throughout the day and school officials will work with the police throughout the investigation.
