COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVG) - Governor-elect Mike DeWine continues to make appointments to his administration ahead of his inauguration to Ohio's highest office. On Thursday, he appointed State Senator and Majority Floor Leader, Randy Gardner, as the new Chancellor of Higher Education.
“It has been a tremendous privilege to serve the people of northern Ohio in the Ohio General Assembly," said Gardner in a statement on Thursday. "The Statehouse has been my 'second home' for more than 33 years. It has been one of the great honors of my lifetime to be your voice in the Ohio Senate and House of Representatives. I look forward to a new chapter of public service.”
DeWine is set to be sworn in as Governor at Noon on January 14.
