Glass City Balloon Race takes flight for fourth year

ROSSFORD, Ohio (WTVG) - The Glass City Balloon Race is taking off for its fourth annual event this weekend. On Friday and Saturday afternoons, attendees can watch 10 hot air balloons from across the country as they ascend into the skies above Rossford.

The free festival will feature 10 hot air balloons along with helicopter rides, live music, and 20 choices of food trucks.

If you're interested in attending the event, admission is free. So is parking. The whole thing is taking place near the Meijer in Rossford, in the field behind Total Sports.

Festivities kick off at 4 PM on Friday (3 PM Saturday) with live music and the balloons will take off at about 5:30. Music, rides, and games will carry on all evening long, wrapping up at 11 PM.

Make sure to stick around until 8 PM when the balloons will light up the night on the field during the Balloon GLOW.

If you want to get a closer look, there are VIP tickets available for $20 which will get you down onto the balloon field and up close for the Balloon GLOW. You can purchase those tickets and find more information by visiting the Glass City Balloon Race website.
