Hey Big Spender, spend a little time at The Rep
The Rep is ready to knock your socks off.
Those with the community theater are putting the finishing touches on "Sweet Charity."
If you've never heard of the musical, chances are you've heard the songs such as "Big Spender" and "If My Friends Could See Me Now."
Even though The Rep has an intimate setting with 210 seats, the show still has a big Broadway feel.
"Obviously, in a smaller theater like this, it's a little more personal and you can be a little, I don't want to say smaller with your emotions because you don't want your energy to lack, but at the same time, you don't have to be a big to be seen from operahouse audiences, so you can kind of get the subtleties of these kinds of characters," says Katelyn Lesle, who plays the title character.
"Sweet Charity" at The Toledo Repertoire Theatre on 10th Street runs for three weekends, including some Thursdays, from June 1-17, 2018.
