Another big announcement when it comes to the redevelopment of downtown Toledo. Hundreds of new jobs are coming to the city.

Credit Adjustments, Inc. is an accounts receivable business headquartered in Defiance. The company has call centers around the country, but those operations are being consolidated in Toledo, adding hundreds of jobs over the next few years.

The new Credit Adjustments call center is at the ProMedica Ebeid Institute. Right now there are about 60 employees, but that number will increase considerably. Michael Osborne is the founder and Chairman of the Board of Credit Adjustments, "We plan on having 500-1,000 jobs in Toledo in the next five years. We are committed to having 500 jobs here in the next three years. We should be up to 240 employees here by the end of this year."

Company leaders say they're consolidating the call center operations in Toledo from states including Georgia, Minnesota and New York

The jobs start at $14 an hour plus benefits and there will also be salaried jobs.

Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz says this is a net gain of jobs, "There are management positions that pay six figures. There will be six figure salaries with the company in Toledo and even for those who start a lower wage this is an industry where there is a real opportunity for advancement."

The mayor adds that the new center was truly a collaboration, "This is a true partnership between the faith community, the business community and government."

Some of the new employees came through a call center training program at the Cherry Street Mission's Life Revitalization Center. Dan Rogers is the President and CEO of Cherry Street Mission Ministries,"We don't want to just be in service for service's sake anymore. We want to offer service that leads to a job and people lives getting better. That's exactly what's happening in our hometown. "

While everyone is just settling in to the new space at the Ebeid Institute, Osborne says there's already a need for more room.

He says they are looking for two and maybe even three more call center sites in Toledo. And the expansion is not limited to Toledo.

The company is also growing in its hometown of Defiance,"We are bringing in at least another 100 jobs in Defiance. There's a possibility to add on to our new corporate headquarters there, so we could bring on even more than that."

The head of the Cherry Street Mission says the call center training program is the first of its kind in the country. It's important to point out the program is open to everyone, not just people at the mission..

Classes are filling up fast. In addition to those who are already taking the class, there are 70 others already in the pipeline
