TOLEDO (13abc Action News) - 80's icon Rick Springfield says years ago he tried it.

And, Springfield says he's thought about it again since.

Earlier this month, a backup quarterback for Washington State University tried it, and his life ended.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in 2014, suicide was the second leading cause of death for 10-to-14-year-olds, 15-to-24-year-olds, and 25-to-34-year-olds. Those numbers are the latest statistics available. And what's troubling is the numbers are not expected to improve when they come around again.
