TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - The Toledo School Board will meet on Monday afternoon to discuss plans for Toledo Smart Academy. Smart is the area's only bilingual school and has has seen a dramatic boost in enrollment over the last 5 years. But there's a new plan in place that means big changes.
Smart will be partnering with TPS going forward, an agreemen that means more space to grow to serve Spanish speaking families. Toledo Smart will merge with Toledo Public Schools in the Fall and a magnet school will be created at Westfield.
The meeting Monday will allow the school board to discuss the logistics of the agreement. That meeting begins at 5:15pm.
