Body of man who drowned in Wamplers Lake recovered

LENAWEE COUNTY, Mich. (WTVG) - Lenawee County deputies are naming the man who they believe drowned in Wamplers Lake.

Sheriff Troy Bevier says Darius Amir Sanders, 23, of Youngstown, Ohio likely drowned Friday evening after jumping into the water from a pontoon boat near Jerry's Pub.

Deputies say Sanders started to struggle shortly after entering the water and another person on the boat jumped in to help, but was unable to reach him.

The Lenawee County Sheriff's Office says Sanders' body was recovered just after 8:00 AM Sunday.
