TOLEDO (WTVG) -- A Toledo postal carrier entrusted to deliver your mail is now charged with stealing packages.
And what was inside those boxes might surprise you.
Federal agents arrested Ramon Tyson Johnson yesterday after undercover agents discovered he was stealing mail arriving from California. That mail was to be delivered to a fictitious address on Elm Street in Toledo.
Federal documents reviewed by 13abc reveal Johnson admitted he's been taking packages that contained marijuana since September of 2017. He would then allegedly sell the drugs at $1,800 a pound.
At the time of his arrest, Johnson had $5,000 in cash in his possession.
13abc I-Team investigator Shaun Hegarty will have more on this alleged drug smuggling mail scheme coming up later today on 13abc Action News.
