Man killed in chain-reaction crash on I-75

WOOD COUNTY, Ohio (WTVG) - A man is dead and multiple other people are hurt after a chain-reaction crash on I-75.

The accident happened just before 11:00 Friday night on Southbound I-75 near mile post 183.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, five vehicles were involved.

State Troopers say Jason Morris, 43, from Morrow, Ohio went off the left side of I-75 and hit a median barrier. He got out of his car to check the damage when he was hit by another vehicle. Morris died at the scene.

His two passengers were both taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Four other vehicles were involved in the crash. All of the drivers and passengers in the other vehicles were not seriously hurt.

The accident is under investigation but Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol say everyone was wearing seat belts and it does not appear that impairment played a role in the crash.
