Man accused of setting Burger King bathroom on fire has bond set
The Toledo man arrested for setting a Burger King bathroom on fire will have his preliminary hearing on February 26.
David Triplett had bond set at $250,000.
Just before 9 p.m. on February 13, Triplett reportedly barricaded himself in the bathroom while wielding a knife and lighting items on fire at the restaurant, 902 Phillips.
Once officers arrived, they observed a large amount of accelerant on the floor from the restroom to the dining area.
As the restaurant was cleared of bystanders, the suspect lit the accelerant and a fire broke out in the restroom.
Triplett, 21, exited the restroom and was taken into custody.
Triplett was transported to St. Charles Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and held for emergency commitment.
