MACKINAW CITY, MI (13abc Action News) - This Labor Day, for six hours, the only land connection between Michigan's lower pennisula and upper pennisula will be closed off to cars.

Michigan officials are banning vehicles on the Mackinac bridge from 6am until Noon during the annual Labor Day bridge walk.

They say it's an effort to prevent potential terrorist attacks during the celebration.

However, officials say there's no current threat against the walk.
