TOLEDO If you are a homeowner or a landlord with a lead paint problem in the city of Toledo there is a program that might help you pay for cleaning it up.
The Toledo Lead Grant program is a $2.9 million dollar grant awarded to the City of Toledo, Department of Neighborhood and Business Development.
$2,500,000.00 is available for lead paint clean up. $400.000.00 is available for Healthy Homes which pays for other aspects of lead paint remediation.
So far 15 units have been made lead safe with 37 more under contract to do work. If you are a homeowner who needs help you have to have a child under the age of 6 who frequents the property or lives there and or a pregnant woman.
Landlords can apply for funding for a unit as long it's made available to families with children. The grants can total 14 to 16 thousand dollars depending on the type of property.
