Motorcyclist killed on US 6 near Sandusky

SANDUSKY, Ohio (WTVG) - Ohio State Highway Patrol out of Sandusky are investigating a two-vehicle crash that ended in the death of a motorcyclist. That crash happened just after noon on May 1st on US 6 in Berlin Township.

According to police, 87-year-old Vivian Miller was driving east on the roadway when she failed to yield while turning left into a parking lot and struck 51-year-old Matthew Solberg and his passenger who were riding a motorcycle in the opposite direction. Both were ejected from the motorcycle and neither were wearing protective helmets at the time.

Solberg and his passenger, 44-year-old Jacquilyn Dowell, were transported to area hospitals with serious injuries. Solberg later succumbed to those injuries.

Miller was also taken to an area hospital and her passenger was treated and released at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation by police.
