A year has gone by since Sierah Joughin was abducted while riding her bike in rural Fulton County and murdered.

However, her memory still lives on through community events like the one her family is hosting next month.

On October 14th at Ice Industries in Sylvania competitive runners and people who just want to get out with their family members are invited to the NWOH Spirit of Sierah Run.

"We would always be doing the fun ones," said Sierah's aunt Tara Ice. "It was really important to do this race and have it be a family-friendly event."

Last year people ran in memory of Sierah, but this year things have changed.

Sierah's uncle Howard Ice said, "we're making it of a little bit of a competitive event. At the level with prize money it's one of the largest races in Ohio all around."

The total cash prize is $10,000. The purse is sponsored by Ice Industries and will be split between the top five female and top five male participants.

"First place winners male and female will get $2200, second place will get $1200, third place will get $800, forth place $500 and fifth place $300," added Howard.

"We just encourage people to come and wear their fun tutus and socks just like Cee would have done," said Tara.
