TOLEDO (WTVG) - When the weather gets colder, most families turn up the thermostats in their home. For low-income families, that is not always an option.
The Department of Energy's Home Weatherization Assistance Program lowers the energy costs for low-income families by installing cost-effective, energy efficiency measures free of charge.
Neighborworks Toledo Region has designated October 25th as "Weatherization Day" to raise awareness about the important benefits create by the program to keep families safe and healthy in Lucas County.
The program is funded by the State of Ohio and Columbia Gas.
To qualify, you need to meet certain income guidelines.
