TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - The Toledo Area Sanitary District will continue their nighttime fogging for mosquitoes on Friday, June 14th. The spraying will be weather dependent and will run from 9 PM to 2 AM.

According to the TASD, nighttime fogging helps to control the population of adult mosquitoes in the area. Fogging is done using truck mounted units which use an ultra-low volume technology that disperses a small amount of insecticide. That insecticide is enough to kill mosquitoes in flight but leave no residue and according to the CDC and EPA poses no unreasonable risk to humans or the environment.

The TASD determines which areas to fog through surveillance of mosquito populations and distributes that schedule using a map of 361 designated service areas.

The June 14th fogging will cover service areas: 156-158, 176, 185, 212-215, 222, 229, 238, 241, 243, 250-252, 257, 260, 261, 263-265, 296-298, 303, 305, 309-312, 330, 332, 336, 337, 339, 340, 343, 348-351
