ODOT announces timeline for southern portion of I-75 widening project

ROSSFORD, Ohio (WTVG) - The major widening and reconstruction project on I-75 between South Avenue and Buck Road got underway last week, and we now have a better understanding of how it's going to impact your daily commute.

Through this Friday, June 28 at 9:00 p.m, lane restrictions are possible on I-75 between Wales and Buck, but starting on Friday at 9:00 p.m, southbound I-75 is going to be reduced to two lanes between Wales and Buck through Fall 2023.

The ramp from Miami Street to southbound I-75 will also close this Friday, June 28 from 6:00 p.m to 8:00 a.m for a traffic shift. Drivers should detour by taking Oregon Road to Wales Road to southbound I-75.

Also going into effect on Friday, the ramp from South Avenue to southbound I-75 is going to be closed through December 2020. A detour will be established via northbound I-75 to Detroit Avenue to southbound I-75.

Happening July 1 at 9:00 p.m through July 3 at 6:00 a.m, I-75 southbound will be reduced to one lane between Wales and Buck for barrier wall installation.

Then starting July 8, the ramp from northbound I-75 to Wales Road will be closed through August. Drivers can detour by taking I-75 northbound to Miami Street to I-75 southbound.

The ramp from westbound Miami Street to northbound I-75 will also close on July 8 through August. You can get around this by taking southbound I-75 to Wales Road to northbound I-75.

Also happening July 8, the ramp from Buck Road to I-75 northbound. A detour will be established via I-75 southbound to State Route 795 to I-75 northbound. This ramp will be closed through January 2020.

Northbound I-75 will be reduced to two lanes between Wales and Buck Roads through Fall 2023, also starting July 8.
