MAUMEE, Ohio (13abc Action News) - Ohio's Department of Transportation is ready for a fight.

An ODOT spokeswoman told 13abc Action News live that preparations have been made to treat area highways with brine solution ahead of the advancing winter storm.

Crews are already on duty and more will be added at Midnight. Those crews will begin working 12-hour shifts. They'll drop salt and plow roads to try to keep the highways as clear as possible.

A winter storm warning is in effect for three Northwest Ohio counties tomorrow.

ODOT's salt supply remains plentiful with a salt pile at the Lucas County garage in Maumee extending several feet into the air almost touching the ceiling.
