A brewery suburban in Cincinnati is donating proceeds from a special beer to help local schools.
The Hamilton-Middletown Journal News reports Grainworks Brewing Company founder and COO Steven Brock presented the Lakota Schools Foundation with a $1,977 check last month. The brewery donates a percentage of its sales from the Thunderbird-Red Ale through a community partnership in West Chester and Liberty townships.
Grainworks' special beer pays tribute to Lakota East and Lakota West high schools.
Brock says the brewery is giving back to the community and bringing neighbors together through the promotion. He says local restaurants have started selling the special ale as well.
Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty President and CEO Erin Clemons says Grainworks is a "wonderful partner."
