WAUSEON (WTVG) - The Fulton County Fair is one of the biggest in the state. Attendance is usually around 290,000 during the week-long event, but the goal is to hit 300,000 this year.

Just over 7,000 people live in Wauseon and Fulton County is home to about 42,000, so that gives you an idea just how big this fair is.

There are all kinds of animals, competitions, special events, food and rides. Hundreds of volunteers make it happen every year, and plans for next year are already underway.

We spent time with this year's Beef Queen. Allison Herr is a junior at Evergreen High School. She's showing six animals this year including horses, cattle and a lamb.

She says it's a lot of hard work getting everything ready, but she loves the challenge of showing multiple animals. Allison says her family is also a big help getting everything ready for the fair.
