Although the temperatures outside may not feel like Fall just yet, the season is in full swing for local farmers harvesting apples and pumpkins.

Erie Orchards and Cider Mill in Erie, Michigan is cranking out 500 dozen donuts and 800 gallons of cider per weekend to keep up with demand.

Farmers say they're also keeping their fingers crossed for colder weather.

"The apples are doing fine but we need some cool nights to get a little more color," says Erie Orchards owner Steve Elzinga. "We would prefer a nice cool 60-degree day."

Elzinga says the cool nights are what give apples and pumpkins the rich vivid Autumn colors people see on leaves this time of year.

The apple orchard offers apple and pumpkin picking as well as tours of the grounds and school field trips.

Upcoming events will also feature crafters, pony and hay rides, corn maze, inflatables, petting zoos, live entertainment, and more!

Erie Orchards and Cider Mill is located at 1235 Erie Road, Erie, Michigan 48133.
