MAUMEE, Ohio (WTVG) - Oregon and Maumee city council members presented a resolution opposing the plan to consolidate six 911 emergency dispatch centers.
City leaders say the proposal promises to save the city money ,but doesn't give specifics on an actual cost savings. They also say dispatch times would be slower. Lucas County administrators say having six separate call centers is costly. The director of public safety for Lucas County says coming together will make everyone safer and address the funding issues.
