TOLEDO (WTVG) -- Flames engulfed a home overnight in Toledo, destroying a house. The fire was so intense, it prompted neighbors to evacuate.

The fire happened at about 3:26 AM at 1680 Belmont Ave. Roughly twenty-five minutes after the first call to 911, the house collapsed.

Firefighters with Toledo Fire and Rescue were concerned the flames may spread to neighboring homes, so they evacuated nearby residents. However, firefighters were able to contain the flames to the single house, which was not occupied at the time of the fire.

Investigators are expected to search through the debris in an attempt to determine a potential cause.
