TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - The suspect in the murder of 41-year-old Erika Crawley has been indicted in Lucas County Court for murder.
68-year-old Pierre Cunningham was arrested in April, a month after Crawley was found dead inside a garage on the 1300 block of S. Cove Blvd. back in March.
Cunningham was the second arrest in the case, following the apprehension of 64-year-old Steven Collins back in April. Collins was charged with Abuse of a Corpse, Tampering with Evidence, and Obstructing Justice in the case.
Crawley's body was discovered in the garage on March 12, 2019 and detectives identified her body using her fingerprints. The Lucas County Coroner's office determined Crawley's death was a murder and the cause of death was strangulation.
Court documents contend Crawley was murdered in the apartment of Collins, which is in the building next door.
The charges also indicate Collins allegedly disposed of clothing that belonged to a suspect and helped destroy DNA and physical evidence.
One of the documents filed in Toledo Municipal Court states: "Collins allowed Crawley's corpse to be moved to an adjacent property and concealed contributing to a delay in the discovery of her death and remains."
