Fostoria death ruled homicide

FOSTORIA, Ohio (WTVG) - Fostoria Police have ruled the death of a 66-year-old man Friday as a homicide.

The update came in a press release Tuesday morning. It said the autopsy conducted by the Lucas County Coroner and scene findings led the department to arrive at the final determination of homicide.

Police found 66-year-old Larry Cole dead inside his home in the 700 block of Circle Drive on Friday afternoon.

Authorities were dispatched to the home just after 3 p.m., responding to reports of a naked woman throwing items out on the front yard.

Officials spoke to that woman, who was "agitated." She was sent to a local hospital for evaluation and is being held at the Northwest Ohio Psychiatric Hospital in Toledo.

Officers then went inside the home, and that's where they found Cole, unconscious and not breathing. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Fostoria Police and the Ohio BCI were on scene to continue the investigation.

No charges associated to the death have been filed at this time.

Neighbors are shocked and say there are more questions than answers in the case.

"Larry was a good guy. Sad to see that he's gone," neighbor Kelly Rivenbark said.
