Port Clinton elects Snider to serve as mayor

PORT CLINTON, Ohio (WTVG) - A former Port Clinton city councilman and current mayoral candidate is now the city's mayor.

The city council elected Michael Snider to the post Tuesday night.

He will finish the term of Hugh Wheeler Jr., who submitted his letter of resignation from the position March 28.

Snider is running unopposed for mayor in the upcoming November election.

His first official act as mayor will be at Wednesday morning's Sip and Chat at 9 a.m. at Bistro 163.
