TOLEDO (WTVG) -- One key section of downtown Toledo has some popular venues, but to some, it lacks an identity.
That area stretches from Summit to Erie, Jefferson to Jackson. It includes the Imagination Station, The Valentine Theatre and The Huntington Center.
ConnecToledo is taking a closer look at the district to come up with a way to boost existing businesses and bring in new ones.
"We have The Warehouse District. We have Uptown. And then we have just this area. So, we want to start to create more of neighborhood," explains Rachel Bach, the President and C.E.O. of ConnecToledo.
Jori Jex, the Executive Director of The Valentine Theatre, suggests more curb appeal.
"Maybe some specific lighting in this area that would be more artistic and would draw more people down to this area," says Jex.
Another possible solution may involve branding the area as Toledo's Entertainment District. The name alone, according to ConnecToledo, could revitalize the section of town by encouraging people to visit and entrepreneurs to invest.
So, what should the area be called? One name that's getting floated around is "The Theater District."
ConnecToledo plans to get business owners and property developers together for brainstorming sessions in the coming months.
